Ron Paul's Gaffe

Much has been said about the apparent rift in the liberty caucus. From Bob Barr's apparent snub of the Paulian We Agree statement and subsequent press conference, Dr. Paul's endorsement of Chuck Baldwin. The one thing I haven't heard anyone mention is whether the Constution Party is any more constitutional than the PATRIOT Act is patriotic.

A Real Debate

Unfortunately, due to the restricted debate access, on Tuesday, all we got to hear were more soundbytes from Obama and McCain. When asked by an audience member about how they would go about "bailing out" the average American, we heard soundbytes and stump speeches.

An Open Letter to Bob Barr

Dear Bob,

I've been watching your fights in Pennsylvania and Texas in earnest lately as you've been battling for ballot access. You well know the struggle third party candidates have gaining access to presidential ballots in all fifty states. You've had to litigate for ballot access in states where you've followed the rules and faced challenges to having your name on the ballot. You've had to litigate some more in states where Republicans and Democrats (hereafter referred to as The War Party) haven't followed the rules, but have been placed on the ballot anyway.

Throughout your campaign you've railed against the two-party system, and called for better access for third party candidates in elections. You've attacked The War Party for changing election laws and debate rules to propagate their duopoly. You've raised these issues, and raised the debate.

That's why I was surprised that you were absent from the Nader, Baldwin, McKinney, Paul press conference this morning.

Liberty Movement Angered by Barr's Absence

Many in the Liberty movement are angered over Bob Barr's absence from the Unity Press Conference this morning, but it may be worse than it initially appeared.

Worse than posts all over Lew Rockwell, Ron Paul Forums and the Daily Paul denouncing Barr for snubbing Dr. Paul this morning.

Worse how?

A Coalition of Third Party Candidates

The Campaign for Liberty has the scoop on a coalition of sorts. Ron Paul issued a statement to the National Press Club yesterday, encouraging voters to reject the two party system.

Highlights from the Rally For the Republic

I've been tuning in to the Rally for the Republic courtesy of C-SPAN.org today and was able to catch Doug Wead's speech. Wead did not disappoint, but Tom Woods and Lew Rockwell's speeches were at least as good. I highly encourage you to check them out.

Tom Woods delivered a great speech, touching on Austrian economics which elicited great applause.

Part 1:

to start a Revolution...

The Revolution Continues, and Expands

The internet plays a new, important role in election cycles. It has proven to be a great fundraising tool for candidates as well as political action committees, and has enabled rapid communication and collaboration of grassroots organizers, but the internet alone cannot win an election. Nor can it be the only tool to change the face of American politics. Revolutionaries much reach out beyond the internet. The revolution is in the streets, at the work place, the bowling alley, the coffee shop, and the voting booth.
